- The North America Division encompasses our operations in the US and Canada. The North America Division comprised 77% of consolidated revenues in fiscal 2007 and 79% in 2006 and 2005.
- The International Division oversees our efforts in all other markets including Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Japan, Latin America, Russia, South Africa, and the UK. International comprised 23% of consolidated revenues in fiscal 2007 and 21% in 2006 and 2005.
President, Gaming Business position description
and responsibilities
This position requires leadership, global vision, business acumen, strong interpersonal skills and technological expertise to lead the Casino Business. It is essential for the person in this role to have a strong sense of community, excellent managerial skills, and a proven track record of making and communicating the difficult decisions. The President will provide the insight and roadmap to position the company at the forefront of the industry. He/she will develop a global strategic plan to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. This role oversees company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. This role will partner with and complement the CEO in developing overall company strategy, and optimizing overall organizational effectiveness. The role is based in Reno, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide the overall strategy and direction of the Casino Business
- Visionary. Evangelist. Technologist – promoting the “I” and “T” to become equal with the industry leading “G” in IGT
- As the voice and face of IGT’s Casino Business, effectively communicate the value proposition of the business to customers – relating to them as partners
- Represent the Casino Business unit in important external business relationships and communications with key stakeholders including major customers, strategic partners, government, industry, community and others so that the organization's image is reflected in the most positive manner to the achievement of major objectives.
- Work with the rest of the executive team and Board of Directors in continuing to define the state of the art in the industry
- Anticipate and resolve any scalability issues, ensuring the right balance between business processes and product innovation
- Assume full ownership for each of the functional areas within the Casino Business - Sales, Network Systems, Games and Platforms, Operations
- Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions
- Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the company
- Establish an organizational climate conducive to maximizing employee potential and productivity and retention of key personnel; ensure an infrastructure is in place that motivates rewards and compensates employees in a manner consistent with individual and group achievement. Needs to build trust throughout the organization and be trustworthy
- Recruit, mentor and coach the management team
- Evaluate performance of executives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives
Education and Experience
- Ability to work in a highly cross-functional environment, which requires outstanding collaborative and strategic management skills
- Minimum 15 years experience developing and executing product strategy in the gaming/technology and/or related markets
- Extensive experience managing enterprise wide programs which result in operational excellence
- Thorough understanding of the underlying business models in order to provide informed insight and recommendations to business owners and key stakeholders
- Demonstrated history of utilizing strong interpersonal and influencing skills, superior management skills, entrepreneurial attitude, and pro-active leadership style, combined with excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated experience assessing business practices for risks, presenting findings, building a case for action, and driving change
- Ability to defend conclusions and negotiate appropriate resolution
- Proven track record of making decisions using good judgment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate well across a broad spectrum of audiences both good and bad news
- Experience bringing together and managing executive level teams is essential
- Possesses highly developed strategic planning, communication, presentation and execution experience
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
- Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources as well as to analyze and interpret financial data
- Knowledge of communication and public relations techniques
- Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects
- Education: BS or equivalent with MBA preferred. Technological aptitude and background strongly desired
