Director of SW Licensing

IGT has corporate headquarters and production facilities in Reno, Nevada, totaling approximately one million square feet. The company also has numerous sales, service offices and distribution contacts worldwide. .

Director of SW Licensing position description and responsibilities

This position will be responsible for leading a cross functional team in the creation, development and future expansion of a centralized licensing function which will assure the achievement of IGT’s strategic objectives as well as overseeing the ongoing operation of the function. The responsibility will focus not only on licensing for sb products but will also encompass all other system products.  

 

The strategic directive for licensing is to direct the development of a strategy and process which will accomplish the following:

 

  • Enable the issuance, control and monitoring of licensing and billing process to support various revenue streams while maximizing IGT profit,
  • Facilitate multiple, flexible pricing models in an accurate, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Develop licensing processes that will be nearly transparent to the operator,
  • Easily accommodate the expansion of licensing to all relevant IGT products and acquired businesses.
  • Enable the protection of IGT’s IP.
  • Implement licensing in a way that supports the goal of reducing the cost of development and operation for IGT through the reduction (and possibly elimination) of custom coding.
  • Utilize licensing functionality to exceed regulatory requirements in situations where it will create a competitive advantage for IGT.

   

The following activities will be facilitated by this role:

 

  • Establish a licensing framework and roadmap for IGT which:
  • Increases product revenues through flexible product bundling and configuration
  • Rapidly tailor product licensing and packaging terms to meet evolving product and market
  • Electronically ensure licensing compliance
  • Easily integrates a variety of new products and products from acquisitions

 

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field, Master’s degree or higher preferred. 

  • 5 years in management or project management experience related to business, accounting or product management.

  • The ability to work in a highly cross-functional environment, which will require outstanding collaborative and strategic management skills.

  • Minimum 5 years experience developing product strategy in a high technology market.

  • Extensive experience managing enterprise wide programs which result in operational excellence

  • The individual will need to have a thorough understanding of the underlying business models in order to provide informed insight and recommendations to business owners and key stakeholders

  • Regular communications with business owners, key stakeholders and senior management regarding strategies, status and effectiveness

  • Demonstrated experience assessing business practices for risks, communicating findings, building a case for action, and driving change.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating cross functionally

  • Ability to defend conclusions and negotiate appropriate resolution

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate well across a broad spectrum of audiences

  • This position may be either in Las Vegas or Reno.
